Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Ripped Off George Michael’s Too Funky Video

December 7th, 2012

Look familiar? It’s clear to me that the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show completely ripped off George Michael’s “Too Funky” video. Unless they came up with the whole “girl-wearing-handlebars” idea themselves? I doubt it. Did anyone else make the connection?

Is Santino Rice Gay?

August 14th, 2010

I love Project RunwaySeason 2 with Santino Rice, Nick Verreos, and Daniel Franco was definitely my favorite season. I watch Project Runway – The Musical on a regular basis.

Now, I love On the Road With Austin & Santino. Each episode is short and sweet. I’m a big Santino Rice fan, but tonight I was wondering, “Is Santino Rice gay?”

According to his interview with Windy City Times posted on ChicacoPride.com on February 1, 2010:

WCT: (Windy City Times) You are bisexual, correct?

SR: (Santino Rice) Well that is a whole other interview right there. You can just call me gay but I like men and I am attracted to beautiful women. I didn’t like the negativity that was attached to being gay growing up so that is why I have problems with the label.

So I guess technically, the answer is yes, Santino Rice is gay.

Oh, I don’t know, let’s see, crushing Dwight Yoakam’s voice box with my five iron?

May 13th, 2009

My favorite episode of King of the Hill is “Hank’s Got the Willies” from Season 1, originally aired in February 1997.

Hank and the guys go golfing. Bobby loses his grip on his club and the club hits Willie Nelson in the head. Bobby later runs into Willie…

WILLIE NELSON: Hey, I know you. You’re the kid that rakes my lawn.
BOBBY: No, I’m the kid who hit you in the head.
WILLIE NELSON: With a rake?
BOBBY: No, with a golf club.
WILLIE NELSON: You been raking my lawn with a golf club? I want my quarter back.

BOBBY: Dad, guess where I am?
HANK: Oh, I dunno, let’s see, crushing Dwight Yoakam’s voice box with my five iron?
BOBBY: I’m at Willie Nelson’s, and he wants you to come over!
HANK: Son, you’re teasing the gorilla in the monkey house.

(In case you’re wondering, I found the quotes at http://www.geocities.com/arlen_texas/willies.htm.)

On a Dwight Yoakam-related note, Dwight Yoakam provided the voice for recurring King of the Hill character, Lane Pratley, in “Nine Pretty Darn Angry Men,” although later appearances were voiced by someone other than Dwight.

King of the Hill has featured many celebrity voices such as the late John Ritter, Trace Adkins, Johnny Knoxville, Tammy Wynette, Betty White, Charlie Daniels, and Reese Witherspoon just to name a few.

Max Hodges is a 49ers Fan

May 7th, 2009

I’m a fan of Max Hodges, the long-haired blond guy on TMZ TV.

Tonight TMZ showed a clip of a cameraman meeting Joe Montana, former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers football team, on the street. (If you didn’t know that, don’t feel bad, neither did Harvey.) Max is wearing a San Francisco 49ers t-shirt – perfect for the occassion… Enjoy!

Get Two Snuggies for the Price of One!

February 27th, 2009

A bit of advice for anyone shopping for a Snuggie, the blanket with sleeves, for a Snuggie pub crawl or in my case, to give as a gift:

My 60-something-year-old mother in rural Wisconsin wanted a Snuggie after seeing a commercial on cable (probably Lifetime). I didn’t want her to be taken advantage of by calling the 1-800 number from tv, so I told her I would go online and order one for her for her birthday.

I went to getsnuggie.com first, but really didn’t want to pay the $7.95 s&h fee on top of $19.99 for a blanket with sleeves!

I next tried searching for Snuggie on Amazon
and got results from Target… I discovered my local Super Target had Snuggies on the “As Seen on TV” end cap in the Housewares department near the kitchen utensils for $14.99 (+ tax)!

Shop locally, and you can get two Snuggies for the price of one!

If you are like my parents and the nearest Target is still 60 miles away, you are still better off ordering from Target.com or Amazon. Wal-mart does not appear to carry them at this time.

Who is the blond guy on TMZ?

January 8th, 2009

the blond guy from tmz

The blond guy from tmz is Max Hodges. According to his information on imdb, Hodges has only appeared on tmz, where he does a fine job I might add.

These pictures are screen captures of my favorite clip, entitled “Matthew McConaughey’s Latest Flop” where Hodges comments that McConaughey is running commando and therefore, “Walking the Dinosaur.” Boom boom acka lacka lacka boom…

Watch the only non-tmz Max Hodges footage I could find here at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb1Re3_Aq8c

Enjoy!
